RAFA Racing Club Bringing Its Enthusiasm, Inclusion and Possibilities, Along With Tanner Faust and Rob Bell to Super Lap Battle at Circuit of the Americas in Presenting Partner Role

Tanner Faust and Rob Bell Part of the RAFA Racing Club Experience at COTA, Each Competing for Fast Time During Super Lap Battle

AUSTIN, Texas (March 7, 2024) – Fitting squarely within its motto of “Race As Family Always” and model of bringing together car enthusiasts from around the world into a community, RAFA Racing Club has teamed with Global Time Attack in this week’s Super Lap Battle presented by RAFA Racing Club at Circuit of the Americas, March 9 – 10.

Super Lap Battle is the ultimate expression in speed in a race against the clock. Off the track, the rule set is open, with each car beginning as a road-going, mass produced car and modified to each car builder’s ideas to produce the quickest car over a single lap at COTA.

Off the track, the event is a car enthusiast’s playground. Not only are competition cars from Super Lap Battle, Lone Star Drift and Grid Life Touring Cup races available to see up close, but the event features a Just Vibes Car Show for some unique views. Combine all of that with thousands of like-minded automotive enthusiasts and the energy that brings, food vendors, COTA’s karting track and more, it’s a gathering that’s good for the soul.

“Since the beginning of time, humans have felt the urge for speed,” Rafael Martinez, co-founder of RAFA Racing Club, said. “This group of competitors, both currently on track and those who strive for this type of build someday, are who we all are at our core at RAFA Racing Club. The oldest toy ever found by archeologists was a small chariot, which just proves that this is a universal goal and one we support and encourage. We live for the possibility of speed, just like everyone testing themselves on track at Super Lap Battle.”

RAFA Racing Club has added to the festivities themselves, bringing racer, television personality and automotive legend Tanner Faust and McLaren factory driver Rob Bell to be a part of the event.

Faust will drive a RAFA Racing Club Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car, with Bell in a McLaren 720S GT3 during the event.

“I’m always up for going as fast as possible in a ‘new to me’ car on a great track like COTA,” Faust said. “I’ve done some time attack in the past and I love how free the rules are and how fast-paced the competition is. When RAFA Racing Club reached out to me about driving a new Porsche Cup car for the event, especially on some sticky Yokohamas, there was really no question I was going to do it.”

The journey for most of the home-built race cars and participants is familiar to Bell in his career. Best known for his work as a driver with McLaren, Bell was a significant part of the development team for the McLaren 720 GT3.

“I’m delighted to be coming over to represent Rafa Racing and McLaren Motorsport at such an awesome event,” Bell said. “Super Lap Battle is something I’ve seen from afar but never competed in. I love the variety of cars that will be competing and can’t wait to get behind the wheel of Rafael’s 720 GT3. It’s a car I helped develop and know very well. Hopefully this will mean we can challenge for honors in this year’s event.”

For RAFA Racing Club, all those on site are participants in the event in their own way. Simulator rigs on site allow those to drive the track virtually, even if they haven’t formally entered Super Lap Battle. Those at home with their own equipment can follow along with results through Super Lap Battle’s streaming platform at SuperLapBattleusa.com/Live or on Global Time Attack’s Youtube page at YouTube.com/GlobalTimeAttack, and then try to match or better the times displayed.
